I am very excited to be part of "The everyday scrapper's" team because it is such a fresh blog offering all sorts of information!! You can find tutorials, sketches, inspirational posts, kit club reviews, even etsy store presentations and give aways!!
There is also a new forum for the every day scrappers (click here) and it is really fun, cause we can talk about all sorts of craft related topics there and I would love to see you dropping by and get to know us!! The best part is that I share the same team with another fellow DT from The Studio Melissa, and Amber from the Cocoa Daisy forum!!
What am I doing there??? Every two weeks I write a column called "Elina's everyday" where I prompt you to use everyday items on your scrapbooking!! My first tutorial was about toilet paper castings and here I share it with you...
Instructions:
1. Pile up about 8-10 squares of toilet paper (the cheaper the better!!)
2. Soak them into a bowl of water (you can even do that in the sink). You really want to get it pretty wet.

3. Lay an acrylic or a rubber stamp facing up in your work space and gently stack the wet toilet paper on top of it. Press gently and tap with your fingers to push paper into the details. It is better to choose a stamp with a robust design and not many details in order to get a better impression.

4. While the paper is still wet, tear the sides for uneven edges and dimension.

5. With a dry towel or paper towels, remove the excess water by gently tapping on to it. Try to get as much water out as possible.

6. You now carefully remove the casting from the stamp and let it aside to dry completely (it might take overnight).

7. And when it is dry you can start decorating it!! You can ink it, glimmer mist it, paint it with chalks or acrylics, accent some details with stickles or pens, it is up to your fantasy!!!
After decorating them you can adhere them to your cards and layouts. Here is what I have made of them!!
Look out for my next tutorial in a few days where we use... (oops sorry, can't tell till its published!! lol!!
